NDB was once again the sponsors of the VIP luncheon at the 2019 edition of the MosiSedi Harvest day 2019. This year’s event was held from the 3rd to 4th May 2019 under the theme “Farming with resilience”. Delivering his keynote address at the MosiSedi Harvest Day 2019, the acting President Mr. Slumber Tsogwane said that government was committed to the growth of the agricultural sector and will continue to provide the necessary support to the farmers.
Mr Tsogwane further highlighted that government will continue implementing the drought strategy plan and budget for drought as it is no longer an emergency but a reality in Botswana. He also noted that government provides adequate resources to promote and support research and development as the backbone of sustainable agricultural production.
Furthermore, Mr Tsogwane noted that government reciognises farmer’s efforts as they continue towards food security. Under the theme “Farming with resilience” the annual event is a clear demonstration by farmers to survive without numerous challenges such as drought. The acting President also had the opportunity to tour the farms in the area to appreciate the state of the fields and later tour the stalls before proceeding to the NDB sponsored lunch.
Mosesidi Commercial Farmers Association is located in the Barolong area, compromising of 25 committed farmers who plough over 10,000 ha year on year.
