As part of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning’s (MFDP) plans to interact with the parastatals it oversees the Minister of MFDP Hon. Kenneth Matambo paid a courtesy visit to the Bank on Monday 28th September to acquaint  with NDB staff on a number of issues including their working environment, the Bank’s achievements, projects, challenges and future outlook.

The NDB CEO, Mrs Lorato Morapedi provided the Minister with an overview of the Bank’s operations before giving him the platform to address staff. During his dialogue, Hon. Kenneth Matambo emphasized a lot on exceptional customer service and other principles that are fundamental as we serve our customers. These include amongst others Botho. The minister highlighted that these principles are within the 10 service commandments agenda with which government is on the driving seat to ensure quality service prevails across our service points.

The minister further implored the NDB team to further reflect on the NDB’s mandate as they serve the customer.  The mandate is far reaching and supports the broader Government agenda to diversify the economy and empower Batswana. He also indicated that he was happy to hear that the Bank has intensified its collections efforts from the NPL and encouraged the Bank to do more in this area so that the NDB remains sustainable.
