7TH WOMEN IN BUSINESS AND LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

On 23rd June 2016, the Bank in partnership with other local institutions held the 7th Annual Women in Business and Leadership Conference at Avani hotel in Gaborone.

For the past five years, the Bank has supported this event because of the significant role it plays in ensuring that women empowerment as an important element in our national agenda gets the attention it deserves as well as the pivotal role it plays towards mobilising women to participate in areas of business and leadership. The Bank’s support is consistent with our Corporate Social Responsibility which calls for action to towards assisting marginalised groups. Furthermore the Bank has derived extensive coverage over the years looking at the overwhelming level of interest the event generates amongst various stakeholders which includes media. 

NDB CEO, Mrs Lorato C. Morapedi officially opened this year’s conference themed “Grow Forward,” paving way for a panel of seasoned leaders and business women from Botswana, neighbouring Zimbabwe and even from as far as United States of America.

In addition to that, two of our female led businesses namely: Sikan Pty Ltd (Bunnies Academy) and Thuto Kindergarten and Primary School, delivered moving and inspiring testimonials about the Bank’s financial support, growth and success of their businesses.

The conference was very successful, attracting over 150 participants.
